Custom Programs

Working with agency partners, Alaska Geographic designs custom education programs for groups seeking a unique experience on some of Alaska’s amazing public lands.

In Denali

Alaska Geographic offers custom field courses for groups of up to 10 participants. These programs are three or four days of exploration and education in Denali National Park with specific content themes customized for your group. The program is based at the Teklanika Field Camp which has a camp kitchen, a yurt for indoor learning and eating, and rustic tent cabins. There is drinking water but no electricity or cell phone service. The cost of the program includes guiding, transportation from the Murie Science and Learning Center (MSLC) around the park, all meals, lodging at field camp, and content instruction with a scientist or AK Geo educator. The cost does not include transportation from your location to the MSLC or gear (hiking boots, sleeping bags, backpacks, etc). A full list of recommended gear for the program can be found here Field Course Gear List. If your group is selected for a course, Alaska Geographic will work with you to create a curriculum and plan your days in the park. We will handle all logistics in the park for your program. We have a set menu but can accommodate some dietary restrictions. Groups are responsible for their own logistics and planning prior to arriving in the park and after departing the MSLC.  If you’re interested in a custom course please complete an application. For more information email courses@akgeo.org.
